Off the coast of St. George’s Caye on September 10, 1798, the British Baymen, who were woodcutters and tradesmen, along with their African slaves repelled the Spaniards in a battle that did much to secure the area now know as Belize for Great Britain. More than 200 years later, we return to enjoy an exceptional diving experience beneath where the battle took place.
A must for all visitors to Belize. This is wall diving at its finest—beautiful white sand channels resembling ski slopes gently guide you and your dive buddy to a spectacular colorful coral wall with unlimited visibility. Giant sea fans and sea whips span the waters as you gaze down the wall into the depths.
Depths for this dive range from 45 feet/15 meters to 130 feet/40 meters depending on your dive plan. It is easy to lose track of your depth. Looking up to the top of the wall you spot schools of Horse-eyed Jack, Blue Tangs, and Sergeant Majors. Dolphins are frequently seen at this site.
