FIRST CLASS
The two best hotels on the island are Seaside Cabanas and Iguana Reef Inn. Both have oceanfront views, pools, and are beautifully maintained. They are cozy with 15 to 20 rooms each. Seaside Cabanas’ rates are $85-$150 USD, depending on the room and season. Visit their website, www.seasidecabanas.com. VARIETY

BUDGET

Tina’s Backpacker’s Hostel
Tina’s–Laid-back, funky favorite of the young and young at heart. This inexpensive, beachfront hostel features shared accommodations in bunk-style rooms but also has a few private rooms. Most rooms $10USD a night. Visit her website www.tinashostelbelize.com

Miramar Hotel
Next door to Albert’s Grocery. Nice deck to meet fellow travelers. A social hotel. Shared rooms up and downstairs. Brightly painted marine green, this hotel is easy to find. Rooms with single bed $10 USD a night and double bed for $12.50USD — private bath $20USD. Phone: 011-501-206-0357.

Sandy Lane
Behind Miramar Hotel and across the street from Belize Diving Services and the football field. Various room and cabana types, something for everyone. Open courtyard, great in the evenings for barbeque or gatherings. Six rooms with shared baths, three upstairs and three downstairs. Single, double, and triple occupancy rooms from $10USD to $20USD per night.
